2012-2013 Scholarshare sets fundraising record, 2013-2014 Scholarshare underwayAlumni — Winter 2014
Every year about 40-50 alumni and community volunteers come together to staff Mount Mercy University’s peer-to-peer business campaign called Scholarshare. Scholarshare is a popular, long-standing program at Mount Mercy that engages volunteers to approach their peers in the business community for financial support in the form of Named Scholarships.
Under Rick Berndt’s leadership, the 2012-2013 Scholarshare campaign generated a record breaking $111,000. With our dedicated volunteers making a targeted effort over a short period of time, this program generates financial support that goes directly to students at Mount Mercy in the form of scholarships.
The 2013-2014 Scholarshare campaign, under the leadership of Karen Jahlas, is currently underway and will wrap up shortly. If you would like to get involved with this program or know of a business that might be interested in creating a Named Scholarship, please contact Ryan Phillips ’11, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 319-286-4404. Phillips will also be seeking volunteers for the 2014-2015 Scholarshare campaign which will launch next fall and would be happy to speak with you if you’d like to help Mount Mercy in this way.
